Race # 1 of a 9 race series. It was a hot day at Ford Ord in Monterey. I raced the A's race. I had a great start going into the first corner in third place. Unfortunately, I didn't have the legs to remain at the front and slowly slipped back over the 8 lap race. I finished 11th out of 20. - Brad Cannella

Race # 2 of a 9 race series. It was a nice day at Ford Ord in Monterey. I raced the A's race. I was lined up at the back of the pack for the start of the race. I passed a few riders on the first climb. I knew that my legs were feeling good so I set out to pass as many riders as I could in the next 7 laps. By the end of te race I had made my way up to 6th place. After working my way through the field I was only 2 minutes and 16 seconds behind at the finish. I was very pleased with my race. If I can get a better starting position at the next race I might be in it for the win. - Brad Cannella

The CCCX #3 race was held at Manzanita park in Prunedale CA. The course winds its way up and down a baseball complex that has many baseball diamonds on 3 different levels. There was also a doubletrack climb behind the baseball diamonds. 22 riders started my race and we completed 8 laps. On the first lap the top 15 or so guys broke away from the the rest of the field. The group of 15 stayed together for a few laps before it started to break up and the 5 slower riders getting dropped. With 3 laps to go the top 4 had dropped the rest of us leaving us to fight it out for 5th - 10th place. I finished in 7th place. - Brad Cannella

CCCX #4. Was also held at Manzanita park in Prunedale CA. There are lots of natural and man made features at this park so every race course is different enough to keep the racing fun. 24 riders started my race and we completed 9 laps. For some reason the race organizer decided to do a Le Mans style start. A Le Mans start is when everybody has to run at the start to their bike, get on it and ride away. There was lots of chaos at the start with some people running to the wrong bike. My start was not very good and I had lots of places to make up. I felt strong and started catching and passing riders. One other rider was with me as I moved up through the field. He was a little better riding through a technical off camber section and would pull away from me every lap. I would spend the rest of the lap catching back to him and then I would attack him on the big climb. With two laps to go I put in another attack on the climb and was finally able to drop him. I finished in 7th place. - Brad Cannella
